The staff were welcoming and kind. The room, whilst simple, was spotless and adequate. Because I was attending a course elsewhere for a week, I used the Hostal Parajas simply as a stopover, waiting for my plane on the next day–the hotel was perfect for this.
    Negative:
The only small complaint that I had was that while the shower was in my room, the toilet was down the hall on the other side of the hotel. Perhaps I read incorrectly, but I assumed that I had ensuite facilities. It was a little annoying have to use the toilet on the other side of the building; however, if I had wanted better facilities, I would have stayed in a more expensive hotel.

The owners/staff of the Hostal Parajas were warm and welcoming. The rooms were basic, but spotlessly clean. Since I needed the hotel simply as a place to sleep because I was attending a business event, I did not look for or need amenities in the hotel. The only unexpected surprise was that the toilet was a communal one down the hall–with the shower being in my own room. If simplicity for €30.00/night is what you are looking for, the Hostal Parajas is a good choice.

Excellent location: lots of eating options inthe vicinity, 5 minute walk from metro, 10 minute walk to entrance to Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza & Reina Sofia; friendly, efficient staff. Day clerk spoke English and was very helpful with directions & suggestions. Keys to: building, floor, room allow guests freedom to come & go at any time.
    Negative:
Thin walls. No hangers. Non-working tv. Very small single rooms and tiny shared bathroom & toilet, however it was adequate for a solo traveler with simple needs.

Very well situated – just in center between Atocha Railway Station and Prado Museum and Plasa Mayor. My room was very small (but enough for me!) and very clean. There are a lot of caffee around where you can have breakfast in the morning. I was happy that I choose this hostal!

The room was clean, warm and reasonably comfortable for a budget hotel. The staff spoke only a few words in English but were welcoming. The location is good, being only ten to fifteen minutes walk from the major sites. It represents good value for money.
